NTC Introduces New Pro Claudia Santos
NTC is pleased to announce that Claudia Santos will be joining our staff effective June 1st 2009. Her primary responsibilities will include directing the junior and adult tennis programs. She will be responsible for leagues, clinics, lesson and special event programming.
Previously Claudia was a member of the teaching staff at Providence Country Club in Charlotte, NC for the past 3 years. Her primary responsibilities were to work with juniors of all ages and ability levels and coaching ladies USTA teams ranging from beginner to 4.5 levels. Prior to Providence, Claudia served three years as the Director of Junior Tennis for Brian Clark at the Kansas City Racquet Club. While there, she was responsible overseeing the development of each of the 100+ kids in the junior program.
Claudia graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in Kinesiology and Sports Studies. While there, Claudia competed for the women’s team playing No. 2 & No.3 singles and playing No. 1 doubles where she and her partner were an NCAA Division I nationally ranked team. As a junior, Claudia played in her home country of Mexico, where she was ranked nationally within the top 10 in singles and top 5 in doubles. She won three national events in doubles and finished in the semifinals in singles, multiple times. Claudia also competed in several small professional satellite tournaments in Mexico. Claudia started playing tennis at the age of 8 and is passionate about the game. We are very excited to have Claudia joining our staff and hope you will join us in welcoming her!!!!
